Opportunities

Officers can apply for a variety of specialized assignments after gaining one to three years of experience (local or prior). Some of these assignments are full-time promotions, while others are collateral duties that officers take on in addition to their primary role. These include:​

  • SWAT

  • Crisis Negotiations Team

  • K9 (4 K9 Officers)

  • Crime Suppression Team

  • Motors and Traffic Investigations (8 Motorcycle Officers, 2 Investigators)

  • Special Investigations (Violent, Property, Financial, or Family Crimes)

  • School Resource Officers (5 Officers)

  • Vice/Narcotics Investigations

  • DEA and FBI Task Force Officer positions

  • Field Training Officer

  • Drone Operator

  • ATV, Boat, and Bicycle Patrols
